Petal in North Bend, WA

Adoption Pending!

This beautiful, 9-year-old, sweetheart is named Petal, and she is looking for her forever home! Could you be the lucky one whom she gets to call family?

Petal came to Cavalier Rescue USA when her previous family was moving, and unfortunately, they were not able to take her with them.

Petal is as Cavalier as they come! Upon first meeting her, it won’t take long until she has you wrapped around her little paws. Her foster family can’t rave enough about her; she is eager to greet you with hugs and kisses (even when meeting her for the first time!), she loves to cuddle, is super playful, polite, and is just an endearing, happy, gentle soul. You will always have a friend in Petal.

Petal has absolutely flourished in her foster home. From day one in foster care, it really didn’t take her long to adjust to life in a new place with three other Cavalier foster brothers. She enjoys her walks, toys, and loves to play with her foster brothers. One of her favorite games is tug-of-war, and the occasional friendly sparring match with her brothers. Petal is also used to kenneling during the day, though with her foster family, when left alone she has been getting closed off in a room and has been fantastic. Sometimes when she is kenneled, or you are leaving, she will bark. Other than that, she’s a pretty quiet girl!

For pushing close to 10-years-old (come this November), Petal is in relatively good health! Her coat is beautiful, she is spayed, her ears and eyes are great, and she has had no problems with mobility. Given her age, she is on a glucosamine supplement to keep her joints comfortable. Typical to the Cavalier breed, Petal does have a grade 3-4/6 heart murmur, but is currently not on any medications for it. She is also borderline deaf, but sometimes surprises her foster family with reactions to sudden sounds (clapping, saying her name a little louder, the other dogs barking, etc.), she may not be as deaf as originally thought! She had a dental cleaning while she was in foster care and is up to date on her vaccines! While in foster care, she has been 100% reliable with going potty outside, and she has never had a single accident in the house.

Her foster family feels that one of the qualities for the perfect home for Petal would be a home with a fellow canine companion(s), since she enjoys the company of other dogs so much. Her foster family also feels that she would be thrilled to be with a family where someone is around most of the time, since she also loves being with her people! A home with a securely fenced yard is also very much preferred, as Petal is hard of hearing and tends to explore all the smells outside. In general, she is great with all kinds of people, but she should be fine in a home with older, gentler children. Her foster family is not sure how she’d be around cats.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about sweet, Petal! She has been an absolute joy to her foster family, and will make a lucky family very happy soon!
