Munchkin in Manahawkin, NJ

Just Adopted!

Here is the pup with his new family...

Munchkin is the perfect puppy. This 1-year-old dog came into rescue from a loving home with small children and a baby who was allergic to Munch. He was extremely loved, trained and it shows.

Munchkin loves all dogs and humans. He is great with respectful children, but they need to expect kisses from Munch. He is currently living with three other dogs and two parrots. He is very fond of the smaller 1-year- old Cavalier in his foster home. You can usually find the two wrestling, playing tug with a toy or kissing each other's faces. He is not cat tested, but suspect that he would be fine in a home with felines.

Munchkin has thrived while in foster care. He loves having other furry companions around, and we recommend that Munchkin have another playful dog (under 40 lbs. but over 15 lbs. as he loves tug) in his forever home. This will give his humans a break from Munch pushing toys in their hands to play tug! Munchkin enjoys his walks and would benefit from continued encouragement on loose leash walking as he likes to pull a bit. He is fairly active, with medium energy, and a physical fence is preferred or someone committed to leash walking. Like a typical puppy, he plays hard and then crashes fast.

Munchkin was fully vetted while in foster care and received an excellent bill of health, as expected from such a young dog. He does have a herniated belly button, but the vet did not recommend any procedures at this time. Munchkin is neutered and up to date on all vaccines and monthly preventatives. He is fully housetrained and sleeps in a crate at night. He is a bigger-boned Cavalier, weighing 27 lbs., but is healthy for his frame. He is an enthusiastic eater and should be monitored if other food is out. While not aggressive in the least, he is eager to snack out of others’ bowls.

There are many things to love about Munch: he has amazing eye contact, which you can see in some of his photos. His manners are excellent. You will love the “woo woo” sounds he makes when getting his food or when you come home. And his kisses, snuggles are to die for. Like most Cavaliers, he loves his companions and would be most grateful to have someone home during the day to dote on him.
