Casey and Allie in Centerton, AR

Casey and Allie, two bonded sisters, came into rescue after being advertised on Craig’s List by a breeder trying to sell them as a proven breeding pair. Though only 3 years old, they both have had puppies. Although these little girls had a rough start in life, they are both sweet, loving, and gentle. This pair is clearly bonded and must be adopted together. They have had no problems adjusting to the other dogs in their foster family. They are not cat tested.

Casey is the larger and more outgoing of the two and loves to be on the couch snuggled in with her foster dad. She adjusts to new situations quickly and is friendly when meeting people and other dogs. Allie is very wary of people and must be coaxed to join in. She will run away when you try and pick her up, but is improving as she learns to trust that she is in a safe place. She Is slowly beginning to trust her foster Mom; her new family will need to be patient while she builds her confidence and continues to learn to trust. Allie loves to be next to her sister when sleeping and if Casey is not available, she will sleep entwined with the other Cavaliers in the family.

Since neither one has ever lived in a home before, they are like puppies, but without the crazy energy of a puppy. Lamp cords, paper, and clothes left lying around are tempting targets. Their future home will need to be puppy-proofed while they continue to learn manners.

They both ride well in a car and sleep all night in their crate. They are spayed, up to date on their shots, and have both had a dental. Allie lost more teeth than Casey and is currently on a soft food. Neither girl is leash trained, so a fenced yard is a must. They do not like to be outside alone, so their foster Mom stays with them while they are out in the yard.

These little girls follow their foster Mom everywhere and always sleep by and on her feet when she is working on the computer. They are typical Cavaliers and always want to be near their humans. They have discovered toys are great fun and also love to chase each other and the other dogs around the yard.

The ideal family will be a home without young children and have someone home most of the day. The family will have the time and patience to continue training and socializing these two little girls to help Casey and Allie overcome their fears and become the normal loving Cavaliers they were meant to be.

  • Temperament: Casey is outgoing and loves to be with her people. Allie is shy and more cautious around people. Both are loving and gentle and good with other small calm dogs.
  • Recommendations: A family where someone is home most of the time and has a fenced yard. An experienced owner who can devote the time and patience necessary to continue their training and adjustments to living in a home. Having another Cavalier in the home to help them adjust and feel safe, with an owner experienced in training and socializing dogs would be a plus. No young children because both girls are frightened by sudden movements and noises.
