Benny in Lucas,TX

Adoption Pending!

Here’s Benny! Benny came into rescue when his owners became concerned with his guarding issues. Benny was an only dog who did not want to share his toys or his food with his family members, including young children. Benny has learned to live with other dogs in his foster family. He has learned that nobody is going to steal his food when he is protected by his crate. And he is learning that he does not have to protect every toy on the floor.

Benny learns quickly and tries to do what he is asked. He would do best with a family with no children. And he would do best with someone who has had dogs before; not a first-time dog owner. He needs a structured routine with clear communication of expectations. Clear parameters will help Benny become your perfect best friend.

Also, Benny would benefit from some socialization-visiting lots of new, safe places. He gets very excited when he goes to a new place-barking and pulling. Lots of positive experiences and a little patience will teach Benny how to become a most wonderful companion.

Benny is neutered, micro chipped, heart sounds good, on heart worm preventative. His patellas slip moderately and should not cause him any trouble if he is kept at an appropriate weight. X-ray indicates mild hip dysplasia, but again, it does not seem to bother him.
