Ginger in Chesapeake, VA

Just Adopted!

Ginger is a beautiful 8-year-old Ruby girl. She is very sweet but shy and timid. Since arriving in rescue, she has been coming along nicely. She is not the pup who will run to the door to welcome you home or jump up into your lap for a snuggle. She likes to stay close to her bed and watch all that goes on around her.

She is now walking nicely on leash and enjoys being outside, even in the rain. She is great with other dogs and will need to have a home where there are others for companionship and to follow their cues. We’re not sure if she likes cats, but doesn’t mind people, even if she doesn’t know them.

Ginger is up to date on shots, flea and heart worming treatments. She has had a dental cleaning and some extractions. All went well and she is back on her normal diet. It was found that she has a grade 3 heart murmur, but no medications are required at this time.

This sweet girl has come a long way with love and patience. We believe she is a super dog, but things need to move at her pace, therefore she will be somewhat of a project. Given the time and love she needs, the end result will be well worth the wait.
