S'more in Lewisburg, PA

Just Adopted!

Here is the pup with his new family...

Meet S’more, a handsome 1.5 year-old sweetheart that would love to join your home!

S’mores previously lived in a home with very little social interaction and no veterinary care. He had a very serious ear infection that was never treated. This lead to some aggressive behaviors, food guarding issues and low weight. In foster care, he has made great strides to overcome some of these issues, but he is not recommended for children or households that cannot devote the needed attention to him.

S’mores has been learning how to share, be comfortable around other dogs and trust his foster family. He has learned new responses to situations that make him feel comfortable and this training will have to be continued and reinforced in his new home. He will have to continue to work on food guarding issues and prefers to eat by himself. He likes other dogs but he would probably do best in a home where he doesn’t need to share things. But canine play dates would be great!

S’mores  loves people and wants to be where you are. This little tricolor boy weighing in at 15 pounds has tons of love to give to that special family.

S’mores is in good health! His coat is beautiful.  He was treated for a very deep ear infection and is up to date on his vaccines.  While in foster care, he has been 100% reliable with going potty outside and has never had an accident in the house.

A calm household is preferred as S’mores does need to continue to work on guarding issues. A home with a secure fenced in yard is also very much preferred, as S’mores is used to being outside and loves to explore. He can jump low fences- so a tall fence is required. In general, he is great with all kinds of people, but due to his prior guarding issues mostly with food he should not be in a home with children.

Thank you for taking the time to consider S’mores. He has been an absolute joy to his foster family, and will make a lucky family very happy!
